Maine Newborn Photography|Cousins

Some of our favorite clients gave us the best surprise this year.  They are sisters-in-law and had their babies one day apart!  When they approached us with the idea to do some photographs of the babies together, we were game!  And here is some of the resulting magic! CantwellBlog-4

And, of course, we also did individual newborn portraits for each sweet bundle and his family.  CantwellBlog-6

I couldn’t resist getting some individual images of adorable big brother and sister at the end.  Theirs smiles are just the best!

Amanda told me her she loves the color green on her little man and I already had this set up waiting to go!  It was meant to be and I just adore the images that resulted!

Bright Eyes | Posed Newborn Photography

This little guy was so alert and so awake for much of his session.  And his hair!  Oh, wait ’til you see his hair!  His numerous and varied expressions kept me entertained the whole time.  I was giggling and totally smitten!WallaceBLOG-1

When you look at these next, numerous sleepy shots you’ll think I was lying about the awake bit.  But let me let you in on a little secret… when they fall asleep… you work fast!  I don’t remember the total time he was sleeping but it was maybe 20 minutes or so.  Are you ready for the hair?  Here it comes… just look at him!WallaceBLOG-3WallaceBLOG-4WallaceBLOG-2WallaceBLOG-6

A little Red Sox action HAD to be thrown in as this couple was from Massachusetts and dad came to the studio wearing that navy cap with the red B one the front.  Like father like Son.WallaceBLOG-5

Aaaaand we’re awake again.  Who wrapped me up?  I can’t get my arms out.  Where are my arms?  Where am I and why am I wearing this bear hat?WallaceBLOG-7

And here’s the newly minted family of three.WallaceBLOG-8

We all got a kick out of this last one.  Rarely do I capture bloopers like these on camera.  They happen… all the time.  They just usually happen while I’m posing them and my camera is not in my hands.  But this one, we captured and they were stoked about that.  So, of course, it made it into the gallery 🙂WallaceBLOG-9

Beautiful Boy | Maine Newborn Photographer

I know beautiful isn’t a typical word used to describe boys.  But I feel like I can get away with it referencing a newborn baby boy.  Especially one this adorable and big and round and squishy and sleepy and …. I digress.ScharnBLOG-6

We had a big storm forecasted right around this shoot date.  I was praying that it would NOT fall on a scheduled shoot because we were so booked that there was really no other available dates to shuffle around! Well, I do believe that God cares about even the small details of our lives and once again, He was good.  The storm landed on a Thursday… right between two shoots and all was well!  See, even this guy was happy about it!ScharnBLOG-4

Additionally, I had just received a package of newborn bonnets and wraps that I had ordered a while back from my favorite vendor, Merrieknit.  Opening those is like Christmas morning for me!  All three bonnets in these next shots are from her.  I just love them don’t you!?ScharnBLOG-3

Sometimes clients come in and they’ve seen a particular pose they like.  Baby willing I’ll always do my best to try to recreate it.  Mama mentioned this one below with the bow tie.  Can I tell you how many times I’ve done this post before?… ONE, one time.  I had done it because the little guy was just so sleepy and relaxed and floppy with his arms that it just sort of happened.  But guess what?  This handsome little dude was the same way and we got the shot!  It was meant to be. Love when those things work out!

ScharnBLOG-5His daddy was off plowing and cleaning up our roads from the big storm to keep everyone safe, so it was just a mother son date this time.  And would you just LOOK at this gorgeous mama and her sweet baby boy!ScharnBLOG-7

Ten Days New | Maine Newborn Photographer

How can you NOT be in love with this beautiful head of hair!?  (Which you’ll see at the end that he gets from his Momma.)O'Neill-3

Or those little tosies peeking out?  (Yes.  Tosies is a word in my own personal newborn photographer vocabulary.  I use it quite liberally and it is pronounced “Tow-zees”)O'Neill-4O'Neill-5

Or those squish-able cheeks and that mushy little bottom lip!?

Or that smile!?  O'Neill-10

This handsome boy was just DELISH!

And just know, that Erin, Lynn and I won’t FORCE you to do anything.  But we will always STRONGLY encourage you Mommas to get in that picture.  At least one.  You are beautiful!  You won’t regret it.  And you’re children will cherish it in years to come!  These two are stunning!

sweet dreams sweet one!
