Southern Maine Newborn Photography Session |Smitten

This sweet little girls grandfather is a very talented photographer in our area.  When he chose us to take his granddaughters newborn photographs I was, #1) super honored, followed closely by #2) super nervous.  Just because I so badly wanted to give them amazing photos!  Ya know? yeaton blog-7

Anyhoo.  This little love slept THE ENTIRE TIME.  She let me move her and poser her and wrap her and unwrap her and just made my job so very, very easy.  Thank-you sweet girl!

It was so precious to see this little girl’s mother, father and grandfather all interacting with her.  They are all 100% smitten with her and the love in the room was palpable!

It was all kinds of extra hard narrowing down which photographs to choose from the whole gorgeous gallery!  These simple, pared down newborn photographs with her sweet little hands and toes exposed are just beautiful.baron blog-8baron blog

Southern Maine & NH Newborn Photographer | Outside my Box

“I USED THE MUSTARD!!!” was my excited text to Erin just after this shoot.  Do you ever think of something in your head, or dream of something, but then never quite have the gumption to carry it out?  Well, I love these rich golden flowers and knit layer that I made to go with them.  But they had just been sitting in my piles of goodies, never seeing the light of day because I didn’t quite have the gumption to bring them out.  I thought maybe they’d be to bold.  But then I just did it.  And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the resulting images.  Let that be a lesson to me to step out of my box more often!weigner blog-6

Could this sweet little girl be any more gorgeous?  I think not.

I positively adore the variety we were able to achieve in this gallery.  From rich yellows, to pastel pinks and lilacs, on to olive greens and neutrals.

I still can’t decide if I like color or B&W of this image better.  Good thing they get both with the full gallery!

And this sweet, sleepy little smirk!?  I die!

Southern Maine Newborn Photographer | Froggy Pose

See this sweet little nugget below?  She is in what is called “Froggy Pose”.  (Yes, there are names for newborn photography poses.)  I usually don’t do Froggy Pose because it requires an assistant and I don’t work with one right now.  Thankfully, I am trained and practiced in this pose, so when this gorgeous couple specifically requested it and brought mom’s stunning wedding gown to use with it, we were able to create it for them.  I briefed dad on his role as baby spotter/supporter, he did a fantastic job, baby cooperated and this lovely images was the result.  I was so happy to be able to do this for them.  georges blog-3

I need you to know that the baby is NEVER left alone in this pose.  She is always supported by the hands of an assisting adult.  Multiple photographs are taken and then during editing, I merge two phpo together to create the image you see here.

And here are just a few samples of the many other beautiful images of this little princess and her family.  georges blog-6

This sweet baby girl is the youngest of all her cousins.  And, thus far, among her sibling and cousins, she is the only girl.  Subsequently, mom and dad were on board for all things girly in her photo shoot.  Just look at that pucker.  I can’t get enough!GilpatrickBlog-15

Big brother was in our studio just 19 months ago for his newborn session.  I’m not sure he’s quite sure what to make of this newest addition yet.  But as you can see, she’s growing on him.  GilpatrickBlog-2GilpatrickBlog-3GilpatrickBlog-4

This sweet girl slept through the whole session.  I kept thinking she’d need to eat, but pose after pose she proved me wrong and slept so heavily!

Big brother loved anything that had to do with balls.  He spied every single one in the studio within seconds of arriving.  So this impromptu image seemed so fitting.GilpatrickBlog-6
