The Best Medicine for Portraits | Seacoast Family Photographer

One of my goals for portrait sessions is to capture laughter. Not a smile. Not a giggle. A full belly laugh. These images are often my favorite from the shoot. They may not be perfectly composed to make the subject (I hate calling my peeps, “subjects” – sounds so scientific. I digress.) look ten years younger, or 15 pounds lighter, but they are real. And they are beautiful.

I’m not sure that there is anything more beautiful than someone laughing. It’s joy, it’s interaction, it’s affection, it’s genuine and it’s not to be forgotten. I’ve been told that when people see pictures of their loved ones laughing, they can almost hear the sound of joy.  These shots should come with a soundtrack.
